South Korea Blocks 14 Crypto Exchanges on Apple Store!
South Korea is expanding its ban on apps that digital asset companies use to provide services to their citizens. On April 11, the country's Financial Services Commission (FSC) announced that 14 cryptocurrency exchanges were blocked on the Apple Store. Affected exchanges include KuCoin and MEXC.
The report, released on April 14, said the banned exchange was suspected of operating as an unregistered overseas virtual asset operator. The report also states that the Financial Information Analysis Unit (FIU) will continue to push for the blocking of apps and websites of such operators to prevent money laundering and user damage.
Previously, Google Play blocked access to a number of unregistered exchanges on March 26, followed by Apple's request to block Apple Store apps. KuCoin and MEXC have also been targeted in Google Play's app blocking campaign. The FSC has published a list of 22 unregistered platforms operating in the country, 17 of which have been blocked on Google Marketplace.

According to the FSC report, users will not be able to download these apps in the Apple Store, and existing users will not be able to update these apps. The FSC noted that "unreported business activities are subject to criminal penalties" punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to 50 million won ($35,200).
